What Causes Soreness Behind The Ear?

My bone behind both ears is sore to the touch. I was pressing on the bones hard last nite to try and alleviate the irritation. I've had two route canals in the past two weeks, one on each side. Could this have something to do with the pain? My allergies have been acting up to.

Dental caries, procedures in teeth can produce a radiating pain towards ear.Mastoiditis causing pain is unusual as the pain is usually unilateral.Take acetaminophen/ibuprofen for pain relief.
