What Causes Soreness In Back And Joints Along With Pain In Upper Jaw?

Hello, I have upper jaw pain, around molars on both sides. I am extremely fatigued, short of breath and have a sore back and occasionally sore joints. I had a deep dental cleaning about 6 weeks ago. Any ideas? The fatigue and back pain are getting debilitating.

Hi,

There are a few different possibilities for the symptoms you are experiencing. One possibility is that you have a dental issue that has not been fully resolved, such as an infection or abscess in the gums or teeth. This could be causing jaw pain and potentially spreading to other areas of the body, such as the back and joints.

Another possibility is that you have an issue with your temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which connects your jaw to your skull. TMJ dysfunction can cause pain in the jaw and surrounding areas, as well as headaches, ear pain, and neck and shoulder pain.

The fatigue and shortness of breath could be unrelated to the dental issue and may be caused by a respiratory or cardiovascular problem. It is important to see a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying medical issues that could be causing your symptoms.

Soreness in the joints and back could be related to inflammation or an autoimmune condition, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus. It is important to discuss all of your symptoms with a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment plan.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
