What Causes Soreness In Mouth Upon Usage Of Crest 3D White Mouthwash?
Hi, i've been using Crest 3d glamorous whitening toothpaste along with the mouthwash and after i use the mouthwash i rinse my mouth out with water and when the water touches the sides of my mouth afterwards it feels sore for a couple minutes. Is this normal?
As per your complain experiencing soreness on the inner cheeks when the water touches the inside of the mouth after gargling with mouthwash. Well, the reason may be, if you gargle with a concentrated solution of mouthwash, that can lead to mild irritation of the mucosa as it is a chemical composition and as soon as water touches the are there is sore sensation.
You need not to worry as it is nothing serious, but you should take proper precaution as continuous irritation can lead to inflammation and increase in soreness that can lead to Stomatitis. You should continue gargling but just dilute the mouthwash with water so that the irritation does not occur. Also drink plenty of water and chew sugar free chewing gums. Gargle once or twice a day only and not more than this.
Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks and regards, Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora
