What Causes Soreness In Muscles And Joints Despite Having Normal Blood Report?

Hi. My joints ache, my muscles ache, I have sciatica, tendonitis in my elbow and a sore hip from hitting the ice that just doesn t seem to improve. I am typically very active having just come off a busy ski and hockey season coupled with working out at least once a week. I am also tired and don t feel like doing much. I have felt this way for at least 3 or 4 weeks. I understand I am getting older (42), but the joint and muscle soreness have me concerned. Am I just getting old? I had my blood checked a few months ago and my doc said it was about as good as it gets. Any thoughts?

Hello,

You are suffering from sciatica, tendonitis, sore hip after hitting the ice. You feel tired while doing workouts. You are 42 and the joint and muscle pain bother you. You are very young and are suggested to take balanced home made diet. If obese do regular walking and maintain healthy weight. Stay away from addictions if any. Joint aches may be indicative of developing gout, arthritis, obesity, doing heavy exercises, muscle strain/ stress, etc.

Avoid doing heavy exercises for a couple of days, Get blood tests done to rule out any developing gout and arthritis. If positive you will have to control diet along with conservative treatment. Give your hips a little rest. Since you hit against ice, you are suggested to get X-ray done and get clinically examined by an Orthopedics. You will be treated accordingly. You can take Combiflam or Naproxen, one stat when needed to get relieve from pain in the hips, joints or muscles.

You can also take muscle relaxants for relief. Since you have sciatica get connected to a physical therapist, you will need assistance to do some physical exercises, stretch exercises, massage therapy, etc. Stay well hydrated to maintain your body electrolyte system to prevent muscle cramps. Since you are feeling fatigued you can take multivitamin supplements, one daily for 10 days. Get thyroid function test done to stay on the safer side.
