General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Yes, it is recommended to go to the emergency room if you have experienced a fall and are experiencing pain in your back and ribs, especially if the pain is severe or persistent. The hit to the back of your head could have caused a concussion or other head injury, and it is important to have this evaluated by a medical professional.
Additionally, the soreness in your back and ribs could be due to a spinal injury or fractured ribs, which would require medical attention. Other symptoms to watch out for include dizziness, nausea or vomiting, difficulty breathing, or any loss of consciousness. It is always better to err on the side of caution and seek medical attention if you are unsure about the severity of your injuries.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
