What Causes Soreness In The Genital Area?

Hi. I have a soreness in my genital area. I may have a form of vasculitis on my legs. Awaiting blood test results. Salon appears to soothe irritation in gehital area although it doesn t heal it. Is it ok to use the savlon or not. I see dr again on Thursday. If not what do you recommend. Obviously I am on penicillin and have fucibet crews for my legs. YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The salvon acts as an antiseptic and reduces the chances of recurrent infection but it would not heal the affected area.

If the concentration is too strong then it may irritate the area. If it is not too concentrated, you can continue to use it, it would not cause healing but would prevent worsening.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
