Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Soreness In The Leg After Kick Boxing?
soreness after zumba/kickboxing...unable to get leg into car unless I physically lift it...unable to do stretches after pushups where you push back, stretching out your arms...too painful...what if I start wearing a wrap around my thigh during exercising. stopping exercising is NOT an option
First I would have some blood tests in order to check for the possibility of muscle damage, checking for raised creatine kinase levels which indicates muscle damage. Intense exercise may at times be associated with a potentially life-threatening phenomenon called rhabdomyolysis.
If such damage is excluded I would suggest reconsidering the intensity and frequency of these Zumba and kickboxing sessions. I am not suggesting you interrupt them but that you increase load more gradually, I am sure you wouldn't want to have an injury which may disable you and force you to stop exercising anyway.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
