What Causes Soreness In The Nipple After Using Mirena IUD?
Hi, I had Mirena put in 2 weeks ago and my nipples are incredibly sore (this was never the case during my period). I also have had a period for the past week (after minimal spotting the week after it was put in). I The IUD was put in at the very end of my last period. Are my symptoms known side effects of Mirena? Thanks
Above clinical symptoms are mostly associated with side effects of MIRENA.
Common side effects of Mirena are missed periods, bleeding and spotting between periods, heavier bleeding during the first few weeks after device insertion, abdominal or pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, back pain, headache or migraine, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, bloating, breast tenderness etc.
They are well tolerated in most of the cases. It will overcome within 1 to 2 months till your body is adjusted with extra hormone.
Take healthy diet, adequate bed rest, wear comfortable breast support, maintain genital hygiene. Good luck and take care.
