What Causes Soreness In The Shoulder After A Fall?

I m 70 and have fallen 8 times in the last 8 months. Some were tripping over my dogs (!) but lately it seems it s when I bend over. No dizziness, just suddenly the group is coming up to meet my face. I always seem to fall on my left side and my left shoulder is now very sore. Also, just in the last couple of days, I seem to be more short winded than before. Like going up stairs, I find I have to catch have my breath when I get to the top. I have been diagnosed, several years ago, with some back-flushing aortic problems in my heart. I ve called my doctor and will get in to see him soon but could this be congestive heart failure?

Hello,

First of all, you should take care not to fall. Secondly, shortness of breath needs to be examined by a doctor in person; allergy, lung disorder, cardiac issues have to be ruled out after examination and investigation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Uday Singh Raswan, Neurosurgeon
