What Causes Soreness Inside The Right Knee Area?

I have an area directly below and to the inside of my right knee that has been sore since last night. It is right in the area of a blood vein and the vein itself is ever so slightly felt when I touch it lightly. And it hurts. Could it be a varicose vein? I am 58 years old and have stood on my feet most of my adult life. Over 40 years. I ve never had a desk job. I have been out of work for over 7 years now and not very physically active beyond light housework and some yard work. I know I should walk but I also have Fibromyalgia and mild neuropathy in hands and feet. Lately, much feet hurt so badly it makes it difficult to walk. I am about 25 pounds overweight.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you have a history of Fibromyalgia & being overweight, you are suggested to make stern changes in your diet & do regular stretch exercises.

Maintain weight as per your BMI. Take food that is rich in fiber & high in lean protein. Avoid carbohydrate intake. Take vitamin B supplements, whole grain, nuts & beans along with veggies & fruits.

You also have a history of Neuropathy, get all Nerve Conduction tests done to assess the degree of peripheral neuropathy that is causing your restlessness.

Soreness of the knees is commonly due to Rheumatoid arthritis or sometimes due to OA. It can also be due to raised uric acid levels in your blood.

Get CBC, Urinalysis( for raised uric acid), Imaging tests did so that you can be treated without delay. You can take NSAIDS, one sos when pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
