What Causes Soreness On The Buttocks After Treatment For Vaginal Yeast Infection?

3 months ago I had a yeast infection and took antibiotics for it.But I have had soreness at the very top inside of my buttock for several weeks. Within the last week I have been having burning and itching in my rectum. I have also started feeling burning and itching and moisture around my vagina.

Hi,

It is possible that the yeast infection has returned since you are having vaginal symptoms, this may require additional antifungal medication. You may need to use a longer course of medication.

If you use oral medication and there is any fungal infection in the rectal area, then this would help with that as well. Rectal itching can also sometimes be due to intestinal parasites which may require a dose of an anti-parasitic medication such as albendazole.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
