What Causes Soreness On The Knees While On Alendronate And Letrozole?

Had beast cancer 2013 - finished up chemo and radiation same year . Put on Letrozole 2.5 mg and Alendronate 35mg . Stopped taking Alendronate last November because of stomach problems .My knees both are really sore and hurt to bend much like when getting in car or going up and down steps. Should I start back on Alendronate or go to ortho for knees

Hi,

Your symptoms suggestive of a severe degree of osteoarthritis problem. For confirmation of arthritis knee, joint X-ray has to be done. Steroid injection can be given within the joint to relieve pain.

The ultimate treatment for severe degree knee joint osteoarthritis is knee joint replacement. So I suggest you consult an orthopedic surgeon for examination and management accordingly.

Don't start Alendronate without doctor advise.
