What Causes Soreness On The Lower Back After Taking Pravastatin?

I have been taking Pravastatin for one week. The day after my first dose (10mg) the skin on my lower back/waist area was extremely sensitive to the touch and also noticed a soreness across my lower back/waist area. The skin sensitivity has decreased somewhat but the soreness lingers. Should I be concerned? I am a 67 year old female and have never taken a statin before. The only other Rx I use is the Estrodiol HRT patch.

Hi,

It may not be related to Pravastatin.

As of now, you can take analgesics like Acetaminophen or Tramadol for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
