about two weeks ago I noticed my thumb sore whenever I had to bend it. Now it s more than a week and it seems to be swelling and still sore at the joint whenever I press that area. Would you have any idea as to what it could be. I don t remember injuring it in anyway.
Hello and welcome to HCM. It seems like you have got finger space infection of thumb. If I were your treating doctor,I recommend, -Antibiotics like ciprofloxacin/cephalexin for 5 days along with analgesics like diclofenac or ibuprofen. -Soaking thumb in warm water frequently. -Can apply locally antibiotic ointment like soframycin. -In case the symptoms persists beyond 3 days or worsen or if there is formation of pus, visit to surgeon for further minor surgical procedures. hope this information helps. Thanks
