What Causes Sores And Blisters On Penis While On Bactrim DS?
Recently took Bactrim DS for a skin infesction on my face. It helped clear up the infection on my face, but the next day i had 3 sores on my penis. I finished the course of the Bactrim, the sores did not go away. Approximately one week after taking the medication, i went back to the Dr to get the sores checked out out. She then prescribed more Bactrim. The next morning i woke up, i had severe blister type boils that resembled herpes. I was tested, it was not herpes. Is this an allergic reaction to the Bactrim. My Dr isnt even sure...
Based on your history, these blisters have been caused by an allergic reaction to Bactrim DS. This is confirmed by the presence of more blisters next day after intake of the drug. Fixed drug eruptions are allergic blisters that occurs at the same site in people allergic to drugs.Treatment is similar to other allergies. Antihistamines and mild steroids will reduce the symptoms.Avoiding the allergen is the best way to prevent allergic reactions in the future.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
