What Causes Sores Around Mouth And Nose Post Fever?

My son is three. He had a fever off and on for 4days. He was seen and released from the hospital, with only the advice to give him 7ml of Motrin. They claimed he had no infection. Now, I see sores around his mouth and nose and he says they hurt. He no longer has the fever, what are these sores?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain it seems that your son is suffering from viral infection leading to sores around the mouth and nose that are painful which preceded with fever..
I would suggest you to consult a Paediatrician or an Infectious Medicine Specialist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like microscopic examination of scrapings from the sores along with blood tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now you can apply numbing gel over the sores to relieve pain and continue giving Motrin..
In case if viral infection is diagnosed anti-viral medication can be advised..

Hope this helps..

Thanks and regards.
