Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your query sores at the back of tongue along with a history of cough,
sore throat, headache and
nasal congestion that can be due to viral
throat infection can be due to either inflamed Circumvallate papillae or can be canker sores that can occur due to infection and inflammation at the back of tongue as the area of back one third of tongue is close to the throat and can get affected by throat infection leading to inflamed papillae and also canker sores..
I would suggest you to start gargling with warm saline solution..
If there is pain you can also gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
You can do soda bicarb gargles..
Take a
multivitamin tablet daily for a week..
In case if the viral infection symptoms still persist you can take a combination of decongestants like
Phenylephrine and mucolytics like ambroxol..
Cough expectorants containing Gueifenesin can help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
