What Causes Sores On Face And Rashes Throughout Body?
Hi Doc my 1yr 11months daughter has recently had sores on her face which have yellow stuff inside and a rash all over her body.I have changed formulas milk fron Infacare to Nido a month ago. She was breastfeed for 5 months. She has a very dry skin. I am worried of the sores which seems like they spreading to the body.
Sounds like your little girl might be suffering from impetigo - bacterial infection of the skin. This infection, when on the face, often presents as yellow-brown crusting around the nose and mouth. If not treated, the infection can spread to the rest of the body. Impetigo is very infectious and can quickly spread to others via close contact, and sharing of towels, linen etc. You need to take her to see her regular doctor so that the impetigo can be treated with antibiotics. Use emollients such as aqueous cream or cocoa butter regularly to moisturize her skin and reduce dryness. Thank you
