What Causes Sores Or Rashes On The Inner Thigh Area?
My daughter had a sore in her upper inner thigh area that was sore and inflamed... It scabbed over and the urgent care people said it was an ingrown hair and to leave it alone and it would heal... She just showed me tonight she has 3 more sores on the other leg in the same area... Could this be staph? She is 15 and not sexually active....
As per your query your daughter have symptoms of sores or rashes on inner thigh area which seems to be due to hair follicle infection leading to folliculitis and it could be due to fungal infection i.e Tinea Cruris.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to
- Apply Clotrimazole 1% on affected area two times a day.
- Avoid itching or pricking on these areas.
- Wear loose cotton clothes.
- Maintain complete hygiene.
- Take proper course of antibiotics to subside folliculitis.
If symptoms keeps on persisting visit dermatologist once and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
