Hi, I 45 , female going thru-some hormones changes, but for almost a year I have a sour taste in my mouth , acidity teeth sometimes it gets pretty bad, family dr, keeps saying that is because my hormones change , but I have asked several women and they said they had a lot of issues but not sour taste in their mouth.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern....
As per your complain it seems that you have a problem of Silent Reflux or Laryngopharyngeal reflux [LPR] which is a kind of similar to acid reflux but the symptoms like burning in chest are not evident or very less in occurrence.. The symptoms of sour taste in mouth with acidity clearly indicates that you have LPR and sour taste is due to taste of acid.. You should take Pantoprazole 40 mg or Nexium 40mg twice a day one to two hours before food.. Take Antacid like Digene or Gelucil Half an hour before food.. Avoid spicy and acidic foods.. Drink plenty of water as it helps in maintaining hydration and helps in dilution of stomach acids.. Sleep with head raised as compared to feet..
Hope this information helps..
