Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Spasms In The Joint Between The Back And Shoulders?
I am having spasms in the joint between my back and shouder/arm area. It doesn t hurt but it s more annoying than anything. I ve previously had them in my tricep area as well. It may last for a day or two and then go away just as suddenly as it appeared.
Spasms in the back can be from simple muscular spasm or sometimes depending on the age of the patient it can also be a sign of a heart problem. If you are young and don't have problems with the heart very likely these spasms are nothing to worry and just taking some paracetamol and ibuprofen and also taking some magnesium supplements might help, exercises especially directed by a physiotherapist might be helpful as well.
If you are over 45 years of age or have risks for heart problems, it is best to see your doctor and rule out heart problems first.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
