Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Stomachaches I'am a 15 year old female. Whenever I get my period I get strong pains in my stomach(the upper part of the tummy), and I can't get rid of them without painkillers;sometimes I take aspirin, and sometimes codeine, depends on how strong the pain is. But recently, about the last 6 months, those spasms came to me outside of my period time, especially before I go to bed... Shall I be worried?
Hi. Yes . Actually the pains of cycles are n the lower abdomen and never in the upper part. This indicates for a proper clinical evaluation by a Gastro Surgeon and investigations if needed. Never take aspirin. There is a possibility of other intestinal problems like enteritis/ abdominal lymph nodes/ appendicitis/ ans so on, which has to be diagnosed properly for a targeted treatment.
