Hello,
1.
Speech delay in a toddler can be due to some problem with the roof of the mouth or the tongue.
2. Get him physically examined by a Child Specialist & an ENT.
3. Get him an Audiology test done to rule out any hearing problem.
4. Give to him a better environment, take him to play parks or places where he can meet toddlers of his age & let him interact with them in his ow way. Try to make this regular.
5. Give him quality time, play with him, talk to him, use gesture.
Many times speech is delayed due to Neurological problems(cerebral
palsy, traumatic
brain injury),
Autism,etc.
Get him examined by a doctor, his treatment will depend upon the cause of the problem detected. Get him treated at the earliest. You may need the help of a Occupational therapist or audiologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
