What Causes Spitting Up Blood?
I had some phlegm in my throat. I was shopping and I couldn t spit it out. Tried clearing it discreetly and swallowing when I went to the car, I cleared my throat again and spat in a tissue and I had bright red blood in the majority of the sputum. I am not sick at present. Had a small cold over a week ago but I don t feel unwell

I really appreciate your concern, if this is being happened just once then it is nothing to worry but if this goes on happening on and often then it need to be sent for x-ray chest and sputum needs to be sent for laboratory analysis hope this information helps.
