What Causes Sporadic Acid Reflux With A Lump Feeling In The Throat?
I have had acid reflux and gas on and off for the past 4 months now i have a lump feeling in my throat (i do not feel a lump ) its more of a feeling with excessive gas. It feels like when you take a pill and the pill somewhat scratches your esophagus. This started two days ago. I can swallow and eat and really I have no intestine discomfort and bowel movement are normal.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) or esophageal irritation. Taking protom pump inhibitors like Esomperazole (Nexium) for long term like 1 month will be helpful for this. Avoid excess spicy foods, alcohol, carbonated drinks and coffee. Taking ginger tea with lemon and honey , chamomile tea is good also. If no improvement after 1 month then it is better to consult a gastroenterologist to find out the exact status.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
