What Causes Sporadic Episodes Of Tightening In Chest?

My 57 year old husband has had several weeks (back and forth) of tightening in chest - blood pressure always been good - last week was high - 188 over 90??? Doctor today - 134/75.....in hospital now - minitoring his heart overnite - then stress test in morning - what will they find?

He may be having angina called prinzmetal angina in which coronaries spasm intermittently causing chest pain treatment is calcium channel blocker like amlodipine or verapimil or sublingual nitrate but your doctor wud hv already put him on them for increased bp they are looking for any vessel abnormality blockage and to prevent severe attack they are monitoring him
