What Causes Spot In The Liver, Fatty Pancreas And Bile Duct Dilation?
I had a CT of the chest abdomen and pelvis and it revealed a spot on my liver and a fatty pancreas as well as my gallbladder has been removed however the bile ducks are dilated can you tell me about all three symptoms is it anything to worry about? The gastroenterologist is wanting to offer an MRI for the liver with that be best served for a diagnosis?
Fatty pancreas should get further checked if it is really fatty or if there is any tumoral cause.
Next, the spot on your liver could be due to any fatty liver or related to dilated bile ducts. Although your gallbladder was removed, there are still bile pathways (bile ducts) inside the liver.
Still thinking of their inflammation most probably due to fatty liver. Both MRI and ct-scan of the abdomen are great to detect liver pathologies. However, the best option is when contrast-dye is used.
And it all depends on what the specialist wants to check further in details and the current status of the patient.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
