H,
Since the pain is associated with burping and cardiac / chest related causes are ruled out, I would like to rule out
esophagitis. Esophagitis is common in individuals with
acid reflux / burping, and this can present with significant
chest pain, although usually it is central in location.
If I were your treating doctor, I would have tried a trial of acid reducing drugs like
pantoprazole. Your doctor will guide you. Meanwhile, keep food timings regular, avoid hot, spicy and fried items, reduce tea, coffee, caffeinated items, alcohol and tobacco. Drink enough fluids. Take plenty of green leafy vegetables and fruits.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
