What Causes Spots On The Vagina And Burning Sensation During Urination?

I just recently went to see my doctor after a blood test. She advised me that “I am positive for hepatitis B virus surface antibody and herpes simplex virus antibody IgM”. When I asked if this was something I could cure or if I currently have this? All she said is it is something that has been present in the past; I would have noticed it from spots by my vagina and burning when I pee”, but I don’t recall experiencing that. I have had a UTI in the past, but that’s all I recall. Please dumb this down for me. Is this something I have? Is it treatable or transferable?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The lab test reports suggest that you have hepatitis B infection and recent herpes simplex infection. Both the infections can be transmitted to your partner during sexual contact. Hepatitis B infection can be transmitted to your child if you get pregnant.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Shailja Puri
