What Causes Spotting After Delay In Taking Depo Shot?

Hi I ve been on Depo for quite some time,i d say years and I ve recently been late for my next injection and was late for my last one.I ve been having some pink and brown spotting for 2 days now.I don t go to the doctor to get my shot until the 8th of Sept.and I was due for it July 20th. Do u think I m pregnant or is my body just regulating itself?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Experiencing spotting while on Depo shot for contraception, that too late for taking shot, would be the result of hormonal imbalance.
However, since you were late for the shot, it would be better to check your urine for pregnancy as well, since the protection of drug for such a large interval cannot be guaranteed.
Accordingly, consult Gynecologist for opinion and management.
