What Causes Spotting After Taking Daphne?

Hi! I ve been using Daphne(Lynestrenol) pills for Almost 3 weeks already. I started it after my menstruation. My menstruation was last July 12-16. I took the pill last July 18. At July 25 I had spotting until July 29. It was like having menstruation again but it was very light. My pad wasn t even half full. I had my intercourse last July 31- Aug 2. And just this August 6, I spotted again. Is there something wrong? Should I change my pill? If yes, what pill would you recommend? I cannot notice any side effect except this spotting and sore tummy. I heard this pill is for breastfeeding moms. I am not a breastfeeding mom. Hoping to hear back from you.

I understand your concern.
Daphne is a 28 cycle progestin only contraceptive pill. Commonly encountered side effects include breakthrough bleeding or spotting, which is due to changes in hormone levels.
Other side effects include headache, nausea, breast soreness, mood changes, decreased libido and acne.
Some of these symptoms are the ones you are experiencing. Since you have begun recently, it takes some time for your body to get adjusted to the pill. You may wait for about 3 months to see if these symptoms subside or reduce.
If these symptoms are bothering you much, you can choose another mode contraception which would suit you. Kindly take Gynecologist advise in this regard.
