What Causes Spotting And Bleeding During A Pregnancy?

I m 5 weeks pregnant and have not stopped having brown spotting. Today, I started bleeding as if I have my period. My gyno prescribed a proluton 250 mg injection. The bleeding has not yet stopped. Please help. I m worried that I might be miscarrying my baby.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Bleeding or spotting in early pregnancy can be due to threatened or spontaneous abortion, subchorionic haemorrhage or ectopic pregnancy.
The diagnosis should be confirmed by proper examination and ultrasound.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist immediately so that proper examination, investigation and treatment can be done.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
Regards,
Dr Deepti Verma
