Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Spotting Followed By Light Bleeding During Periods?
I usually have a normal period, day one it s light and each day the flow gets heavier by the 3rd day it s heavy but this cycle I started Spoting 3days early and I m on day 5 and it is still light bleeding. Could I be pregnant or is something else going on, or is this normal sometimes
It may happen sometimes that the periods vary and are not as usual. On the other hand, anytime a woman is sexually active and has a variation in her bleeding pattern it is safer to have a pregnancy test to make sure.
I would advise you to have a urinary pregnancy test now and if it is negative to repeat it in 4-5 days to have a more accurate result.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
