What Causes Spotting In An Elderly Woman?

Hello. My mother, who is 91, and wears incontinence pads, has had a slight staining in the front part of her pads the past few days. Nothing overtly red and heavy, just pink and in a small amount, but I just noticed it when I helped her shower on Saturday. No pain, but she does have vascular dementia, so questioning her about it is fruitless. I m wondering if I should bring her to her regular MD, or a specialist.
