Hello and welcome to HCM, Unprotected sex half way through periods is absolutely safe and does lead to pregnancy. Bleeding between periods can occur during ovulation. The ovulation occurs 14 days prior to onset of menstruation. Ovulation is sometimes accompanied by lower abdominal pain or discomfort and mild bleeding or pink colored discharge. However, observe the symptoms for couple of months. If there is regular bleeding in-between periods then you may have to consult your gynecologist.
