What Causes Spotting While On Birth Control Pills?
Hello I ve been on birth control for a year and a half and I am experiencing a light brown discharge with bits of white color as well, the discharge dries a yellow brownish color. There s no smell, or itching, nothing like that, and I m supposed to start my period next week. What could this be? I read that brown discharge can be normal for birth control pill users but I m still worried. I m taking ocella.

Mild discharge while on birth control pills is quite normal. It is because of the changes in the blood supply of the genital tract and there need not be any need to panic. However, it is true that prolonged use of birth control pills can give rise to certain malignancies. It is always advisable to get routine PAP smears regularly. If you have completed your family or are motivated enough, there are many other options of birth control available which may suit you better.
