my husband is a healthy 34 year old, takes no medication, average wieght. In high emotional stress times fight or flight he says his kidneys feel like they are being squized and released causing debilitating pain. He is a runner and even when he is pushing his body to the limit he never experiences this . Only when in the fight or flight situations. come to find out his mother has the same issue. I can not relate, looking for answers.

Hi,

It's better to get an ultrasound KUB for kidney statuses, and any structural changes or any calculus, meanwhile, taking OTC analgesic like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen may be helpful. Renal function tests should also be done. Urinary metanephrine levels and renal Doppler should be done.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
