Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Stabbing Pain And Numbness In Lower Arm And Wrist Post Blood Withdrawal?
I had a blood test with (9) vials removed on Saturday. After the 7th vial I got a stabbing pain in the top of my wrist which I still feel if I turn my wrist a certain way. Also started experiencing numbness in my lower arm since. The elastic band was on my arm the entire time during the draw. What could this be and how long might it last?
It could be an inflammatory pain. As of now you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
