Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was bending over from a sitting position and I got a stabbing pain in my stomach at the base of my right rib a week ago. I went to the doctor, but he said it was a pulled muscle. Today I was bending over again while sweeping and the same thing happened on the left side. Now I have pain on both sides. What is happening. I recently had a colonoscopy and endoscopy and all I had were a few polyps in the lower bowel. I did develop diverticulitis a few weeks after, but was treated and was feeling better for a while. Now this.

HI Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic.
I feel this pain is due to the Inter vertebraldisc prolapse or disc compression. There occurs some mal alignment in the bones of your spine causing compression on the inter vertebral discs or nerves arising from that region . Such compression causes a sharp pain around the back and front , sometimes only in the front.
I advise you to get MRI Thoraco-lumbar spine and revert back with report.
Hope you find this information useful. Any clarifications or Queries feel free to ask.
