What Causes Stabbing Pain In The Arms, Legs, Hands And Feet?

I am having stabbing pain in my arms, legs, hands and feet. The pain jumps from one side of my body to the other. Sometimes the pain will affect my right arm and left leg or vice versa. Sometimes the pain is paralizing? I do not have diabetes and I have not been in any accidents. I am a 55 year old female.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Stabbing pain in arm and leg suggest a deficiency of vitamin B12. So check it out. Also, check for nerve compression by doing an MRI of the spine. Have some physiotherapy if muscle stiffness is there. Consult a nearby doctor if the problem persists.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nirav Nimavat, General & Family Physician
