What Causes Staggering And Dilated Pupils While Taking Tegretol For Seizure?
My husband has not long since started taking Teragerol for a suspected seizure. Since taking it twice a day he by the afternoon he is staggering about and his pupils are so dilated that no colour can be seen. Is this to be expected? He was told that the dosage would be adjusted to suit only he believes he has to take the entire course first instead of consulting his doctor with his symptoms which include vagueness. He won t let me speak to the doctor because he blames me for their diagnosis which has stopped him from driving.
Though history is important in diagnosing a seizure, his doctors would have likely done tests that may have confirmed the diagnosis , so it would not have been made on observation alone.
The effects mentioned are likely related to the tegretol, it can have these possible effects. He does not have to complete the entire supply given before speaking to his doctor about possible side effects.
For his own sake, he can speak to them sooner rather than later, it is not likely that he likes to feel as he is feeling at this moment.
I hope this helps
