What Causes Staring Spells?

Hi, My 17 year old daughter came home from school complaining of a headache. She usually compalins about the flourescent lighting in her school so it wasn't a surprise. What did surprise me is that she started telling me about how she finds herslef staring and cant stop, and cant really think about anything while it is happpening. I immediately started thinking of "staring spells", but she doesnt have any other symptoms. Should I take her to see a neurologist?

I went through your details. I suggest you to talk to your daughter first. At the age of 17, she is crossing adolescent period. She has a lot of development tasks and identification to do. Role confusion and other conflicts arise. Due to this they are always stressed and anxious. They complain about everything and look negatively at almost everything. Staring spell may not be the problem. Somehow she could be disoriented. She only can tell Where. Please talk to her or take her to a psychologist to find the reason.
