Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Dear- thanks for your inquiry,I understand your concern and will give you my medical advise. The symptoms described by you are secondary to the spinal stenosis with pinched nerve. That can happen every time that you have nerve's entrapment from herniated disc or spinal stenosis. The changes in position makes it that you feel confortable with some positions than other. You may need to discuss your symptoms with a back specialist who will determine if you need a new MRI of your back to check level and severity of the stenosis.
I hope that my advise has been helpful
