What Causes Stiff Neck, Headache, Joint Ache, Cough And Fever?

My husband complained yesterday about stiff neck, headache, joint aches. Tonight he was sleeping when he woke up coughing because his throat was dry. Sat down, and was almost violently shaking. Said he was so cold...back ache, head ache and neck. Felt warm to the touch, not even cold hands. Doesn t seem to have a fever. Any ideas what I could do for him? By the way, thanks for your help. I need information. Can t pay for it. I sure feel better now!!!

dear madam
he may be having a viral flu which can give all the symptoms that you have just explained
if it is inconvenient to visit a doctor now you may give him any antipyretic and pain relieving OTC medication and keep him well hydrated with plenty of oral fluids till you can visit a doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
but please do not delay it as at times it might get complicated
