Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hey I started football training 2 weeks ago on Tuesday and the morning after I had very tight calfs whenever I walked. I m still in pain every time I use my legs for more then a couple of minutes such as walking or even standing and kicking a ball. I have have the same sort of problem in the past only on the rare occasion and the tightness would only last about 20 mins this latest injury has been going on two weeks
Hello I appreciate your concern Tightness in calf muscles which lasts for 20 minutes could be related to muscle spasm or deep vein thrombosis
I would like further information to help you better Your age and complete medical history Do you smoke? Is it associated with intense pain? Any aggravating or relieving factor if you could identify any
it needs to be examined physically for swelling or tenderness, so in my opinion you should consult your doctor for examination and battery of tests like blood coagulation profile for confirmation of diagnosis
Meanwhile you can take multivitamin especially vitamin B 12 and calcium supplements Bed rest until Diagnosis confirms
Hope this helps you Best wishes
