What Causes Stiffness And Pain In Left Knee Post An Injury?
Hi. I am a 50 yr old woman. I had a small amount of arthritis in my left knee and then fell and tore my meniscus.I was in a tremendous amount of pain and after trying cortisone shot, I had surgery on June 9th. Surgery went well and I have been in physical therapy twice a week since 10days post op. I have had stiffness and a little pain but good range of motion and p[ain upon standing. For the last 4 days I have been in severe pain- unable to walk without my crutch-sharp pain going up and down my whole leg. It s been rainy -could this be my arthritis, scar tissue (I tend to keyloid) or something else? Thanks
hi, well it is difficult in a trauma of this magnitude with a surgery to know if side symptoms are caused by past trauma, cicatrization, joint manipulation, or by addition of all of them. In cases of persisting issues sometimes is necessary use of resonance imaging, pathologies of knee are a very complex problem, in general total healing could last months, but it's necessary a close monitoring, i think that you arthritis must be studied too because you don't say if you know what's causing it, it converts in a negative factor that is necessary to control.
