Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Stiffness And Pain In The Knees After Taking Eliquis?
I started on Eliquis last Tuesday for a superficial vein blood clot. Starting on Saturday and daily I have had stiff/sore knees and ankles when I get up in the morning and my first several steps are quite painful. Today I have had a bad headache. Are these typical symptoms of taking Eliquis, or are they more serious symptoms?
It is not related to eliquis. Most probably it will be due to the early features of arthritis. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
