What Causes Stiffness And Restricted Movement In The Fingers?
Hi, car accident dec 2015 cause open fracture left radius and ulna. been 6 months but fingers wont extend and thumb cant do ok sign plus wrist can swivel out ward. all look like posteriorio interosseus nerve is cut.. can feel funny sensation around fractured area everytime applying pressure around it. is it posible that its a cut nerve? and is it fixable still after 6months? thanks you
She may have a sort of nerve entrapment usually the median or ulnar nerve. An EMG is very diagnostic in such cases. In most of carpal tunnel syndrome patients medications like NSAIDs or painkillers like tylenol tabs with gentle massaging with topical anti-inflammatory gels, B12 vitamin supplements and muscle relaxants is effective in most of cases. If pain persists steroid tabs or injections are prescribed or even endoscopic or surgical intervention options are recommended but after physical evaluation by her neurosurgeon for proper evaluation and management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
