What Causes Stiffness And Swollen Joints Post A Flexor Tendon Repair Surgery?

Yes, 3 weeks ago I had surgery done on my left hand for carpal tunnel and flexor tendon repair. Since the left hand continues to be very swollen with stiff joints that when bending for pt are painful. I m now having the same issue for my right hand. Could this be related to Lyme which I contracted a few years ago and was treated Rick YYYY@YYYY

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, such swelling could be due to infection or soft tissue injury and it could be post operative complication, better to keep the hand in sling, and Tab Ibuprofen 400 mg three times in day can be tried, if this is the confirm infection then antibiotic can be used, but only after confirmation, and you can discus this with surgeon hope this information helps.
