General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It's not uncommon for people with the flu to experience muscle aches and stiffness, possibly due to the body's immune response to the infection. The mottled skin on her legs could also be a result of the flu or the body's response to the flu. However, it's important to rule out any other possible underlying conditions or infections, such as meningitis, which is why you consulted with your GP.

In the meantime, your daughter should rest and drink plenty of fluids to help her body fight the flu. Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, may also help with muscle aches and stiffness. Warm compresses or taking a warm bath may also provide some relief. If her symptoms persist or worsen or develop new symptoms, it's important to follow up with her healthcare provider.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
